Advertising policy

FBCommunication S.r.l. may insert advertisements or banners on its website. Said advertisements or banners shall not interfere with the contents of FBCommunication’s website and shall not be adverse to FBCommunication’s principles and policies.

FBCommunication’s advertising policy is based on the following guidelines:

  1. All banners and other advertising content must comply with FBCommunication’s guidelines, as well as with all relevant laws, regulations, and codes.
  2. All banners and other advertising content are subject to FBCommunication’s approval. Evaluation of the suitability of advertisements is based on a series of factors, including maintaining FBCommunication’s reputation for editorial integrity and matching the editorial profile of the FBCommunication’s website. The principle of keeping editorial content independent from commercial influence will underlie all decisions.
  3. FBCommunication will not allow advertising to influence editorial decisions: the editorial content of each issue published on the website is decided independently of the advertising planned for that issue.
  4. Advertising banners must meet the following requirements:
      a. Advertisements must clearly identify the advertiser and the product or service mentioned.
      b. Banner advertising must be clearly identifiable as such and the name of the advertiser should appear on the banner.
      c. Advertisements shall be separate from editorial content of the publication.
      d. Advertisements shall not be deceptive or misleading, either by affirmative statement or omission.
      e. Scientific and technical data concerning safety, operation, and usefulness of products shall be inserted when required in order to complete the advertisement.
  5. The following restrictions will always apply:
      a. Advertising content for tobacco, alcohol, recreational drugs, or any illegal products will not be accepted.
      b. Advertisements that may be confused with any scientific opinion expressed in the website will not be accepted.
      c. Political advertisements will not be accepted.
  6. Advertisements must be readily distinguishable from editorial content of the website. Advertisements may appear as fixed or rotating advertisements. In any case, advertisements may not remain juxtaposed with, appear in line with, appear adjacent to, or be linked with editorial content on the same topic. Commercial advertisements may not appear on the editorial content pages of FBCommunication’s website.
  7. Advertisements and promotional icons may appear on the home page of FBCommunication’s website.
  8. Advertisements may link offsite to a commercial website, provided that clear information is given to the user that he or she is being taken to another website. FBCommunication does not vouch for or assume any responsibility for any material contained on the website to which it links. The following statement, “An advertisement appearing on FBCommunication’s website does not mean that FBCommunication guarantees or endorses the product or service mentioned or the claims made by the advertiser for such product or service,” will appear on each page of FBCommunication’s website where advertisements are placed. FBCommunication will not link to websites:
      a. That make use of FBCommunication website’s content without express permission from FBCommunication.
      b. That prevent the user from returning to FBCommunication’s website or other previously viewed screens, such as by disabling the user’s “back” button or by redirecting the user to a website the user did not intend to visit or that does not otherwise follow FBCommunication’s policies with respect to the use of FBCommunication’s logos and trademarks.
  9. FBCommunication shall periodically review banners and other advertisement content and the main page to which the advertisements are linked. FBCommunication reserves the right to remove any banner and other advertisements or links to other websites if the present guidelines are not respected.
